Detoxified Iodine

Submitted by Linda E, of CA, Submitted 10/8/2007

Hi Phil,

I hope this letter finds you well. Thank you very much for the iodine. I started with one drop a day for five days, then two days off. Then two drops a day for five days with two days off again. I've been winging it as far as dosage goes. I hope you don't mind if I ask for your advice on the subject of dosage. I'm really excited and hopeful because I believe this detoxified iodine is going to be very beneficial for me; I'm just in need of some guidance. I don't know if you require any background info for that, but in case you do, I will keep it concise so as not to take up much of your time.

My thyroid began to show some swelling in 2000. The simple thyroid test indicated normal levels, but I've learned that's often the case regardless of whether the thyroid is having a problem or not. A doctor was unable to feel the swelling in spite of its noticeable size. A blood test taken at an independent lab via the chiropractor I was seeing at the time indicated some thyroid antibodies, and I was told I might have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I haven't seen a doctor for my thyroid since the first attempt seven years ago.

I am extremely interested in healing, which is why I haven't gone the medical route. My thyroid reacts mostly to stress and certain foods, so my diet is good and I attempt to remain as calm as possible, although I have not mastered that latter part in the least! Still giving it a good try, though. My thyroid swelling fluctuates, sometimes several times a day. Since 2005 I have felt the need to wear a scarf most of the time when I leave the house because the swelling is so noticeable. It has at times reached the size of a large grapefruit, making breathing difficult and making singing almost impossible (I'm a singer-songwriter). Visualization and positive self-talk have brought the swelling down completely on a handful of occasions, but I haven't mastered how to keep the thyroid in its unswollen state. The swelling starts up again in about a couple of weeks or so.

Since I started taking the iodine, the swelling decreased somewhat, making breathing easier and positively affecting my voice. It seems to be holding at its present size, which is definitely large and noticeable, though not as uncomfortable as it has been for quite a while. I'm still working through the emotional factors of the goiter, and when I happened upon your site through curezone.com I felt hopeful that the detoxified iodine could help my body achieve some balance to expedite healing.

I had fibromyalgia from 1996 to 2006, which was like having some hideous, unrelenting flu for ten years. I know that if I can heal from that I can heal my thyroid. I have never been more ready to be completely well. I'll be 40 in January and I look forward to being goiter-free and singing my heart out.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to hearing from you regarding the dosage and I sincerely appreciate your help.

Cheers,
Linda
